United Way St. Croix Valley has named Jean Needham as its Interim Executive Director. Needham was previously United Way's Resource Development Manager. She is stepping into the new role in the wake of longtime Executive Director John Coughlin's passing in August.
 
Needham has an extensive background with nonprofit organizations, including more than 30 years in various management positions with Westfields Hospital in New Richmond. She is also an active volunteer, currently serving as President of the New Richmond Rotary Club, Secretary of the New Richmond Community Foundation and Board Chair of The Centre in New Richmond.
 
A search committee has been formed to begin the process of hiring a new United Way Executive Director. United Way Board Member and Past President Jim Dahl will be heading the committee. Dahl has more than 40 years of experience as a human resources professional.

story4Dreadwood Haunted Forest Holding Food Drive
Dreadwood Haunted Forest in Hudson is once again holding a food drive to benefit the United Way Food Resource Center. If you bring a nonperishable food item you will receive $2 off your ticket price. Dreadwood is open every Friday and Saturday in October and is located at 835 County Road E. United Way St. Croix Valley thanks Dreadwood Haunted Forest for its support of the Food Resource Center.

Citizens State Bank Sponsors October Food Resource Center Shipment
Citizens State Bank of Hudson is the Silver Sponsor of the October Food Resource Center Shipment. They donated $373 and also did a food drive resulting in 120 pounds of food donated, valued at $202.80. United Way is thankful for the support.

 
story2Success By 6 Hiring Engagement Specialist
United Way St. Croix Valley is hiring an Engagement Specialist for its Success By 6 early childhood program. The Engagement Specialist works in cooperation with Success By 6 Partnership members to ensure that children in Pierce, Polk and St. Croix Counties enter school ready to succeed. The Specialist will engage and educate business leaders about the importance of the early years and motivate them to support Success By 6 by becoming certified as a Family Friendly Workplace™. This is a new position, so the Specialist must be highly organized, self-motivated, and have strong relationship management skills. Click here for the complete job description.
