Welcome to your local United Way's August e-newsletter. We hope you are enjoying this last month of summer and are getting geared up for going back to school. Here at UWSCV we are gearing up for our favorite time of year, campaign season! You don't normally get to hear and see the gratitude we receive from the agencies we fund--this year we want to show you, because their thanks are meant for you.

Local United Ways Team up for Campaign Kickoff on St. Croix Lift Bridge

Did you know your local United Way works closely with the United Way in Stillwater? By working together we are able to share resources and ideas. On the morning of September 14 the two United Ways will kick off their campaign seasons with a photo opportunity on the St. Croix Lift Bridge. Participants will hold hands across the bridge, indicating the connection and partnership the United Ways have across the river. The St. Croix Valley communities are connected by the Lift Bridge, and what a great way to feature such a historic landmark!

Email Kate at ksmith@unitedwaystcroix.org for your registration form. We must receive your signed form in order for you to participate. Participants will receive a free t-shirt and box lunch.

American Red Cross St. Croix Valley of Bayport worked with a family in Amery last week after being displaced due to a house fire.

Positive Alternatives TeenCare of River Falls can now be contacted via text. Text at any time, day or night to 715-505-4582 to talk to someone about anything happening in your life.

Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence of River Falls is in need of pillows for their shelter. They do not need to be new, just clean and in good condition. Email kimw@turningpoint-wi.org or call 715-425-6751 ext. 102.
