Greetings!
| Welcome to our April e-newsletter. This month we have a lot of updates for you, including our 2012 fiscal year annual report, which is now available on our website. We are also excited about the recent launch of the State of the Valley website, a project we have been working on with other local nonprofits and organizations.
Thank you for your support, and happy spring!

Girl Scouts Donate to the Food Resource Center
| The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys donated many boxes of cookies to United Way's Food Resource Center. Cookies were left over from the cookie cupboards in Baldwin and River Falls. The donation includes all seven varieties of the beloved treats. A total of 4,711 boxes were donated. They will be distributed to thirteen local food pantries and shelters in the coming months. "We try to distribute healthy foods including fruits and vegetables but most everyone has a sweet tooth too," said United Way Executive Director John Coughlin. "We are very grateful to the Girl Scouts." |
State of the Valley Website Profiles Region
| | United Way St. Croix Valley, along with several other local organizations, has launched the State of the Valley website. The website presents socio-economic indicators for Chisago County and Washington County in eastern Minnesota and Pierce County, Polk County, and St. Croix County in western Wisconsin. These five counties, encompassing the St. Croix River Valley, have a combined population of more than 460,000 residents. For more information, contact Brad Kruse at the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation. |
