Welcome to our February e-newsletter. We hope you had a great Valentine's Day. In this month of love, we are sharing the support from our partners all throughout the community, from a sponsored agency to a student group to a school district to a fraternal organization.
Assistance & Resource Center is an all-volunteer River Falls-based nonprofit agency that launched in 2008 in response to the downturn in the economy. The ARC helps people with basic needs such as gas cards, paying bills, groceries, transportation and paying for major car repairs or rent. Volunteers answer the phone Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, and people can leave messages during off-hours.

Student United Way to Hold Food Drive at Orchestra Concert
The Student United Way at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will hold a food drive at the March 18 St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra concert. The orchestra, in combination with some special guests, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on the UWRF campus. Students will be collecting nonperishable food items outside the doors of the theater prior to the show's start. United Way is grateful to Student United Way President Abby Mediger and UWRF Professor and St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra Director Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj for their help organizing the drive.
February Corporate Leader - Hudson School District
Hudson School District and its employees are big supporters of their hometown United Way. Each year they hold special events and activities to help raise money and awareness for United Way St. Croix Valley. This past year's campaign brought in nearly $21,000 between all the schools and the district office.
Hudson School District is comprised of eight schools, including a high school, middle school and six elementary schools. Its schools have won many awards for excellence in education.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered to pack food with Kids Against Hunger Saturday, February 23. Our session packed 18,575 meals, enough to feed 51 children for one year!
