The California Fashion Foundation lends its support to those charitable organizations close to the hearts of the members of the
California Fashion Association...
We invite your participation and your SPONSORSHIP!!!

Fashion Industries Guild

The Fashion Industries Guild, established more than 56 years ago, is a fashion industry-based organization raising funds for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Membership includes dedicated people from the region's fashion world - manufacturers, financial institutions, buying offices, sales reps, marketing groups, property owners, and service providers. Over these years, more than $22 million has been raised for Cedars-Sinai projects.

On September 23rd, 2012, Jeff Kapor of Buchalter Nemer and Jay Mangel of Crowe Horwath LLP will be honored at the Fashion Industries Guild's 56th Annual Charity Dinner Dance at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Proceeds will benefit The Diana and Steve Marienhoff Fashion Industries Guild Endowed Fellowship in Pediatric Neuromuscular Diseases.  The Fellowship will allow the Department of Pediatrics and Cedars-Sinai Regenerative Medicine Institute to investigate and develop new treatments for devastating neurological diseases affecting children, including spinal muscular atrophy, cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The Fellowship will help children and their families improve outcomes and offer hope for a healthy and productive future.

Reading Partners is looking for volunteers!
Reading Partners is a non-profit working to expand life opportunities for children in under-served communities by empowering them with strong reading skills.  Reading Partners pairs volunteer tutors one-on-one with elementary school children who are struggling with reading.

Tutoring is simple and requires no experience; structured lesson plans are used, and an experienced educator is always on site to supervise the program.  The curriculum is easy-to-follow for volunteers, yet effective for the students - they have an over 85% success rate.

Scheduling is flexible and they ask for as little as 1 hour a week!  Tutoring takes place Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Locations are in Downtown LA, South LA, Lawndale, Pasadena, and Santa Monica.
