Ladies enjoying coffee with b3 mugs
BOOO!!

Greetings!

Hey ... here's a Halloween joke for ya: Why don't ghosts like rainy days? Because it dampens their spirits!! ha ha ha! Get it? Yes, well all of this late season Florida rain is starting to dampen OUR spirits, so let's shake off the soggy weather blues and focus on the fun of Halloween instead! Fall is finally upon us and you know that means YUMMINESS of an autumnal nature here at B3. So read on for all tricks and treats (mostly treats) that we have in store for you this fine October.

Oh, and Halloween is just the first celebration of the season so start booking those festive holiday gatherings and party platters soon. Gobble-gobble and Fa-la-la-la-la time will be here before you know it.

NOTE: Inside dining rooms closed on Saturday Oct 25 at 7pm for private party.

October Beers: Beers for the (Zombie) Apocalypse

Great canned beer? The term has been an oxymoron for craft beer lovers used to getting their full-flavored beers from bottles only. But in November of 2002, Oskar Blues Brewery (in tiny Lyons, Colorado, pop.1400) changed that by launching its "Canned Beer Apocalypse." The brewery began hand-canning its hoppy, assertive-but-elegant Dale's Pale Ale on a table-top machine that sealed just one can at a time. The move made Oskar Blues the first US craft brewer to brew and can its own beer. And unlike cans of old, the modern aluminum can is lined with a coating so beer and metal never touch. Cans are also easier to recycle, free of glass breakage issues, and less fuel-consuming to ship. (35% of the weight of a bottle of beer is the bottle itself.)

Come in and sample some Oskar Blues this month at B3. So good they could raise the dead (especially after a long day at the office)! Other Oskar Blues brews we'll be serving, as well:

Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale, Colorado - America's first hand-canned craft beer is a voluminously hopped mutha that delivers a hoppy nose, assertive-but-balanced flavors of pale malts and hops from start to finish. First canned in 2002, Dale's Pale Ale is a hearty (6.5% and 65 IBUs), critically acclaimed trailblazer that has changed the way craft beer fiends perceive canned beer.

Oskar Blues Mamas Lil Yella Pils (Traditional Pilsner), Colorado - Oskar Blues' newest beer is an uncompromising, small-batch version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czech Republic famous. Unlike mass market "pilsners" diluted with corn & rice, Mama's is built with 100% pale malt, German specialty malts, and Bavarian hops. While it's rich with Czeched-out flavor, its gentle hopping (35 IBUs) and low ABV (just 5.3%) make it a luxurious but low-dose (by Oskar Blues standards) refresher.

Oskar Blues Old Chub (Scotch Ale), Colorado - This jaw-dropping Scottish strong ale (8% ABV) is brewed with bodacious amounts of malted barley and specialty grains, and a dash of beechwood-smoked malt. Old Chub features a skim-milk mouthfeel, semi-sweet flavors of cocoa and coffee, and a kiss of smoke. A head-turning treat for malt heads and folks who think they don't dig dark beer.

Wine: A Cozy Autumn Malbec

Bodega Sur de los Andes was created by Guillermo Banfi, a young Argentine professional who entered the wine industry in 2002. Banfi spent the 1990s in banking and finance, working in Buenos Aires, New York and London acquiring both business experience and a taste for fine wines. His passion for wine collided with his business training, and, coming at the start of the worldwide boom in Argentina wines, led him to make the decision to leave banking to pursue a dream of creating a high quality, boutique winery dedicated to producing an affordable portfolio. His first venture was as a co-founder, in 2001, of the Cinco Tierras label which met immediate success in Argentina, France and Brazil followed by an explosive entry into the U.S. market. In 2005, Banfi sold his stake, hired one of Argentina's rising young stars, winemaker Pablo Durigutti and took the next and most logical step in the evolution of his dream by forming Bodega Sur de los Andes.

Sur del los Andes Malbec, Mendoza, ArgentinaThis Malbec has deep purple game color and sweet, jammy raspberry and blackberry and graphite aromas. A round entry leads to a dryish medium-bodied palate with sweet vanilla, tart black berry, and toasty pepper spice flavors. Beautifully balanced and perfect for the season.

B Creative: Artist Meredith Wilcke

This month we'll be carrying over the photography of Meredith Wilcke. Falling madly in love with photography the first time in 1997 when an old Canon A1 found its way into her hands (even though she had the film loaded improperly), Meredith was drawn to ability the art form create to capture a moment forever frozen in time. This month, her beautiful images will be on display at B3.
