Hey, B3 Friends ... Who Wants 'Ta PARTAY? Having a private party at B3 has always been a good time, but now ... with all of this new space? Your private party can be double the fun. So, if you have an end-of-summer soirée in mind and need a super cool place to have it (you know, that looks good AND has air conditioning): give us a ring, we'd love to be your party central. (Also, holiday party dates book up quick around here so plan ahead for the holidays!)

Also new this month ... just to keep things interesting for ya, keep an eye on the menu boards for new Weekly Specials. You know, a little of this, a little of that. All tasty goodness to mix up your YUM factor! Items to watch for: homemade pot pie and B3 Mac & Cheese.

August Beers: It's the "End of the World" As we Know it (Prepare to Feel Fine)

Brewed in honor of the intrepid European explorers who earnestly believed they'd reached the 'end of the world' upon discovering North America (a.k.a. 'the new world'), this triple-style golden ale recreates the style of beer originally developed in the Middle Ages by trappist monks for special occasions. As such, it was the first of its kind to be brewed in North America.

Though this tasty La Fin du Monde won't bring about the actual end of the world, it most definitely WILL rock your world thanks to 18 months of research dedicated to its signature, unique strain of yeast originating from Europe. So, sip and savor ... and, of course, feel free to sing R.E.M. songs if the name of this brew so moves you. {wink} 9% ABV.

Wine: Cycle in the Sky

Adorned with perhaps one of THE most beautiful wine labels in the industry, Cycles Gladiator seeks to pay homage to the freedom and happiness that pervaded Europe in the late 19th century - during an era known as the Belle Epoque. This era was marked by many notable inventions and improvements to daily life, not the least of which was the modern bicycle, or "Le Bicycle Velocipede."

Cycles Gladiator 2010 Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon - True to its appellation, the 2010 Cycles Gladiator Cabernet has the strength and power characteristic of wines from Lodi. A deep purple color supports a dense, black cherry dominated aroma. Cherry flavors continue to headline through to the finish, supported by lighter accents of plum, cola and cedar. A big, muscular wine, a weighty tannic structure make their presence felt throughout.

Cycles Gladiator Pinot Noir - This fresh and juicy Pinot Noir bursts out of the glass with aromas of cherries. Unrestrained fruit continues on the palate with the round and supple mouthfeel complementing a medium body that frames delicate tannins. On the finish, a slight cedar and vanilla character show off a delicate oak influence in this easy drinking Pinot Noir.

It's been a long time in the works, but FINALLY the B3 Cafe expansion is finished (thanks to so much love, time, and talent put in by many of our café friends). Growth is a glorious thing ... so let's celebrate! Commissioner Stuart will be here at 9:00 AM to help get the party started, and then we'll be celebrating all day. So, swing on by and bring a few friends because there's nearly double the room now for you to drop in and hang out.

Cycling Happy Hour

Summer time is here and the sun is staying up late...and so should you. Use those extra daylight hours to come mix and mingle with some of the most fun cycling peeps in all of Orlando. Our B3 Cycling Happy Hour includes a FREE beer tasting (at 6:30 PM) plus a few appetizers on us, as well as $1 off beer and wine until 8:00 PM. Additional flights can be purchased for $6.

B Creative: Artist Angelo Cane

Angelo Cane is now the resident artist in our newly expanded café space. One of our most popular local artists of all time, Angelo Cane creates work ranging from the abstract creations to beautiful landscapes from the Tour de France. Angelo will be showing new pieces, and offering reproductions of some of past favorites.

Note: Tic Bowen's art will also remain up for the month of August. Don't miss a chance to get one of his wonderful and unique clocks!

APGD Trivia, The Fifth Element

Friday August 29th

Join us the last Friday of every month for Audubon Park Garden District Trivia. This month's theme, the Fifth Element, the 1997 sci-fi film featuring Bruce Willis. "In the colorful future, a cab driver unwittingly becomes the central figure in the search for a legendary cosmic weapon to keep Evil and Mr Zorg at bay."

Seasonal Salad, Sandwich & Soup:

Seasonal SALAD: A delightful base of nutrient-packed summer spinach topped with fresh blueberries, peaches, almonds, and blue cheese. Plus our tangy poppyseed dressing served on the side.

Seasonal SANDWICH: Brown mustard, pepper jack cheese, spinach, tom brocoli atoes, jalapenos, and veggie bacon nestled between toasted locally-sourced, preservative free ciabatta bread.

Seasonal SOUP: Broccoli Cheedar: Craving a creamy soup that is still light enough for Orlando's scorching summer weather? Our satisfying Broccoli Cheddar soup (vegetarian) strikes the balance perfectly with its blend of cheddar cheese and whole broccoli florets.

Latte: Peanut Butter Cup: This blend of Jittery Joe's smooth Tour de Force espresso, Monin peanut butter syrup, Ghirardelli chocolate, and your choice of milk will leave you saying Mmmm! Mmmm! Good! (Served hot or over ice, caffeinated or decaffeinated).

Children's Book Reading

& Release Party

Come out for a family-friendly special event where local author, Robin Hofmann, will be reading two of her engaging children's books. Shaping Up and Betsy the Angel take you and your child on a journey of patience, growth and transformation. Robin's books will be available for purchase on site and she will be available for signing after the reading.

National Night Out Neighborhood Party

Audubon Park Covenant Church

National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to forge stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners. The goal being to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, send a message that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. It's also the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors even better.

Earth Trivia

Admit it. It's too damn hot to be outside. But you still need some FUN, and indoor fun is what we've got going on every Monday night at Orlando's best spot for team trivia (B3, of course!). Show off your smarts solo or bring your big-brained buddies to play with you. Our game is divided into rounds, each with ten questions about anything under the sun: movies, music, TV, science, sports, geography, word jumbles, identify the pictures, spelling questions and tons more! So come on in and stave off that dreaded summer brain drain! (I mean, do you even know what "stave off" means? If not, get in here. Your brain needs a work out!)
