July Beers:
French Beer for the Race of the Year
In honor of the Tour de France this month, we're featuring Kronenbourg Brewery (Brasseries Kronenbourg), a brewery founded in 1664 by Geronimus Hatt in Strasbourg (at the time a Free Imperial City of the Holy Roman Empire; now France) as the Hatt Brewery. The name comes from the area (Cronenbourg) where the brewery relocated in 1850.
Kronenbourg 1664 - this lager has a noble history, characterized by its fine taste, golden hues, delicate bitterness that comes from selecting the best hops (the Strisselspalt), and the unique know-how of one of the French master brewers, for over 350 years. Strisselspalt is known as "the caviar of hops" by the expert master brewers for its low bitterness and aromatic qualities. The specific soil and culture technique requirements to grow this hops makes it rare and quite unique to the Alsace Region and Kronenbourg recipes.

Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc --- Modern, fruity and refreshing, this beer appeals to consumers all over the world with its unique taste and appearance. Brewed with a hint of citrus and coriander spice, Blanc has an inimitable sweet and refreshing flavor that makes it special amongst all the other wheat beers (white beers). Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc's modern identity is perfectly expressed by its unique shiny blue bottle.

| Wine: A Toast to the Tour
Raise a glass and make a toast, the greatest bicycle race in the world is ON! In anticipation of waiting to see who will win the Tour de France, we're pouring our favorite winning French wines. Cheers! FYI: Join us for live coverage of the Tour de France everyday at the café July 5th-27th.
LOUIS JADOT MACON VILLAGES CHARDONNAY, FRANCE - Macon-Villages, Burgundy, France- This fresh, brilliant pale-gold Chardonnay shows delicate varietal aromas with flavors of apple and melon offset by citrus notes and a crisp acidic balance ending in a clean, lively finish.
HELFRICH VIN D' ALSACE PINOT GRIS, FRANCE - Golden straw yellow in color with intoxicating aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine and ripe peach. Flavors of honey, banana and white stone fruit. The wine is semi-sweet with bright and vibrant acidity. It's like a little bit of spring in a glass.
CHATEAU DE CAMPUGET, FRANCE - Syrah (65%), Grenache Noir (30%), Mourvèdre (5%) It is a garnet-red colored wine with a blue hue. Its scent of ripe fruit is dominated by black currants underlined with hints of spices and pepper. In the mouth, it is round and harmonious with long smooth tannins.
DOMAINE LAROQUE CITE DE CARCASSONNE, FRANCE - 100% Cabernet Franc - This is a medium-bodied, fresh and fruity wine with flavors of red berry and vanilla.

"You're a grand 'ol flag! You're a high flying flag! And forever in peace may you waaaaave!." That's right. We've got the July 4th spirit this month and all of our seasonal drinks and treats are adorned in red, white, and blue to salute our love of the American independent spirit! {cue the pyrotechnics!}
Drink: The Old Glory: Prepare to say "glory, glory, halleluhiah" after tasting this delicious café concoction. Jittery Joe's Tour de Force espresso blended with your choice of milk, Monin raspberry and blueberry syrups, and Ghirardelli white chocolate sauce. Caffeinated or decaffeinated, hot or over ice. Come on, you know you want to stand up and salute.
Waffle: The American - Our fluffly, made to order Belgian (er, we mean AMERICAN-Belgian) waffle topped with summer ripe strawberries, bananas, and blueberries, (red, white, and blue). Served with maple syrup on the side (although: hint, we like this one topped with whipped cream, as well). <-
the perks of freedom.
Gelato:Strawberry: Uhm, ok. So, this one is less overtly patriotic. BUT, it's still crazy delicious. Locally made and preservative free.
