B Happy!

Life is good in the hood at B3 this month as we extended Sunday hours, feature a familiar face as our B Creative artist, and launch a fun new B3 delivery partnership - keeping the love right here in Audubon Park Garden District ever-growing. We really do have the best, most creative, and most collaborative neighborhood in all of Orlando. (See below for details.)

May Beers: An International Affair giro d italia

May marks the start of the first "Grand Tour" of the year for cycling. A Grand Tour refers to one of the three major European professional cycling stage races: Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España. Collectively they are termed the Grand Tours, and all three races are similar in format being multi-week races with daily stages. The second oldest Grand Tour, the Giro d'Italia (Tour of Italy), starts May 9th. With this in mind we have a great selection of beers this month that honor top riders (and their home countries) who participate in the race.

Birra Moretti La Rossa, ITALY - Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer comes from the malt used in the recipe. Another key ingredients is hops. The variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. 7.2% ABV.

Tucher Helles Hefe Weizen, GERMANY - Tucher Helles Hefe Weizen is brewed using a recipe that has been handed down from the former royal Bavarian wheat brewery in Nuremberg. The beer's distinctive mixture of light wheat and barley malts and its natural yeast turbidity guarantee a refreshing wheat beer flavor with a hint of yeast. 8% ABV

Palm Amber Ale, BELGIUM - Palm Ale has long been one of Europe's top-selling specialty beers and when you taste it, you will know why. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, Palm represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It's the roasted Champagne Malt which gives Palm its amber color, but without being heavy. 5.2% ABV

Wine: Ways to Win During "The Fight for Pink"

The Giro d'Italia is on and this year's theme for the 21 stage race that starts in Belfast, Ireland and finishes in Trieste, Italy is "Fight for Pink". The Giro is known for its epic climbs and for the race's leader standing out by wearing the coveted "maglia rosa" (pink jersey) ... thus the Fight for Pink. As we continue our celebration of the Tour of Italy, B3 will be getting our WINE ON with great selections that honor Italy with some fantastic wines from regions along the course route.

Additionally, to help YOU have fun getting into the race, we're holding 3 drawings to WIN A BOTTLE OF FREE WINE at stage 7, stage 14 and stage 21. All you have to do is buy a glass of our featured Italian wines to be entered to win. Our wine vendor made us a really cool poster to help you track the race and the wines. It will be posted by the front counter register. Here are some of the wines to savor in your bid for a free bottle:

Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio, Italy - Soft lemon and lime flavors with a little golden delicious apple for good measure. Nice weight and mouth feel with a little mineral or wet stone to add complexity. Simply lovely.

Modello Rosso delle Venezie, Italy - This bright, ruby-red wine exhibits the characteristic ripe cherry aromas of Corvina, with spice notes. With lively, fruity, well-integrated plum and cherry flavors, the wine shows vibrant acidity and good length. This easy-to-drink wine has a dry finish. The grapes are a proprietary Masi blend of local grapes Refosco, Raboso and other varieties. Each variety is harvested separately.

Biago Chianti, Italy - Vivacious ruby red color tending to garnet with ageing. Intense and characteristic bouquet, fruity with a violet fragrance and a slight hint of cherries. Dry, balanced and sapid, and lightly tannic this turns into velvety softness.

It's been a couple of years since we featured APGD's own Tic Bowen (though his work was all the rage when we did!). You might recognize Tic from a few doors down at Winter Park Cycles. He is an incredible artist with an uncommon style who creates bold, bright, unexpected paper collage artwork. Interests in folk art, abstract art, and pop weave their way into his whimsical, ironic, colorful pieces. His clocks are among his most popular artistic creations. Don't miss a chance to stop by the café to check out his quirky creativity!

Beer Tasting and Cycling Happy Hour

Thursday May 22nd

It's Spring! Get out of the house. Come hang with your cycling buddies and mix up your Thursday evening a little bit at our B3 Cycling Happy Hour. The evening includes a FREE beer tasting (at 6:30 PM) plus a few appetizers on us, as well as $1 off beer and wine until 8:00 PM. Additional flights can be purchased for $6.

Seasonal Salad, Sandwich & Soup:

Seasonal SALAD: Spring mix topped with fresh mango, fresh strawberries, red onions, pecans, fresh mozzarella cheese and a mango pineapple dressing served on the side.

Seasonal SANDWICH: The 3 Cheese Summer Sandwich is back by popular demand! Locally sourced ciabatta bread pressed with parmesan, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, yellow mustard, romaine lettuce, vine ripe tomatoes, black olives and drizzled with our special sauce. (Please allow 10 extra minutes for us to make this to perfection.)

Seasonal SOUP: Green Chili & Corn Bisque - It's a warm fiesta of summer flavors: roasted corn, diced onion, jalapeño, green pepper, red pepper and green chilies blended in a creamy bisque. You will love the hint of southwestern flair with ancho chile pepper, cumin, garlic, cilantro and oregano. Vegetarian.

The game is divided into rounds of ten questions each. Questions can be about anything under the sun: movies, music, TV, science, sports, geography, word jumbles, identify the pictures, spelling questions and tons more! So come on in and put all of your useless (er, we mean vital and impressive) knowledge to good use!
