3 ... 2 ... 1 ... HAAAAAPPY NEW YEAR!!! What a wonderful holiday season we just had. We hope yours was great, too. Thank you to everyone who helped support our toy drive for Parramore Kidz Zone.

Now that 2014 is here, count on B3 to help you start the year off right. We're serving up lots of healthy deliciousness to help fuel you up to tackle those New Year's Resolutions. Winter Oatmeal is still on the menu, along with your other hearty and healthy B3 favorites. So stop on by and say "hi."

January Beers: Come on get Happy!

Did you know B3 has Happy Hour every Monday through Friday from 5 PM  to 7 PM? So swing on by after work with your favorite pals and get $1 off each bottle of some of the best craft beers available in Orlando, like something off this month's featured beer list or from our selection of over 30 beers. Our picks this month:

Erie Brewing Ol' Red Cease and Desist, PA - This high potency seasonal Scottish style ale has a powerful caramel malt flavor, finishing climatically with a smooth warming sensation. Deep dark red color. 10.5% ABV.

Oskar Blues G'Knight Imperial Red Ale, CO - Our "Velvet M-80" is a hefty, dry hopped double-red ale with a nose full of aroma, a sticky mouth feel, a malty middle and unctuous hop flavors. G'Knight sports a surprisingly sensuous finish for a beer of its size (8.7% ABV, 60 IBUs).
Wine: A Taste of Down Under

January is here and with it comes the Tour Down Under -- a cycling race in and around Adelaide, South Australia, attracting riders from all over the world. In 2005, the Tour Down Under was promoted by the Union Cycliste Internationale to the highest race ranking outside Europe. In 2007, Premier Mike Rann and Tourism Minister Jane Lomax Smith launched a campaign for the Tour Down Under to become the first race outside of Europe to secure ProTour status from the UCI. (Winning ProTour status against stiff international competition would guarantee that the all the world's top teams would start their annual competition each January in Adelaide.) In 2008, the Tour Down Under became the first UCI ProTour in Australia, and the following year it became the inaugural event of the UCI World Ranking calendar. This month, stop by B3 and take your own Tour Down Under with some of these great wines from the Southern Oz:

Rosemont Estate Chardonnay Semillon White Blend, Australia - Bright and aromatic. Grapes from regions in South Eastern Australia are blended together to make an "easy drinking", bright and fresh style of wine, skillfully balanced and full of ripe fruit flavors. A lively, soft palate with great texture. Mouth filling flavours of white peach and citrus lift out of the glass, balanced by a lovely citrus acidity.

Black Opal Shiraz Cabernet Red Blend, AustraliaBlack Opal is a collection of contemporary wines named after the alluring black opal gem found only in Australia. This blend is a rich wine full of ripe berry flavors and hints of spice.

B Creative: Artist Open House featuring Melissa Ludetke

Saturday January 11th

7:30 PM with live music!

Artist Bio: Melissa graduated from Flagler College in St. Augustine with a degree in Fine Arts and Art Education. She started out painting in oils at Flagler College and that continued being her medium for years. During this time she was also teaching art full time at an Elementary school. After beginning a family, she was home for 7 years and her artwork changed to some painting but mainly ceramic work from her little studio.

Her present work is in Encaustic, which is painting in layers of beeswax. The first time she encountered encaustic she immediately fell in love with the rich luminosity of the surface. Melissa was able to attend a weekend workshop two years ago with Patricia Seggebruch from Seattle. After that inspiring workshop she converted her studio to an encaustic painting studio. Her paintings have many layers of pigments, plaster, beeswax, fabric, paper, transfers, and pencil illustrations. When beginning a painting she doesn't have a plan in mind but a story always emerges from the many layers of wax and color. Retro themes and storybook whimsy lend to the richness of her encaustic paintings. Her paintings are changing over the years and her passion for finding new ways to create art is ever evolving.
