Benefits of Playing Multiple Sports!

Kathy and I exposed our 8 children to a variety of sports from an early age. Our younger ones spent considerable time attending our sports camps.  While they all worked on their swimming skills as they grew, they played many different sports in grade school, high school and college. We've had a male collegiate gymnast, two collegiate female soccer players, a female collegiate swimmer, a female nationally ranked tri-athlete, a regionally ranked high school female soccer player and a high school quarterback among our kids.  

Why is a swim school talking about sports other than swimming?
 
We ran across a great article from Athletic Business that talked about the benefits of playing multiple sports and specifically the role it played in our U.S. Women winning the World Cup!  We totally agree!

We believe that kids MUST learn to swim and we also believe that swimming is one of the best cross training sports there is!  
 
Muscles are cross-trained. Kids don't get burned out. Overuse injuries are reduced.  So while you child may eventually begin to focus on a different sport keeping them swimming provides huge benefits.
