Age Groups & Distances
25 yard distances:
6 & Under girls/boys, 7-8 girls/boys, 9-10 girls/boys
50 yard distances:
10 & Under girls/boys, 11-12 girls/boys, 13 & over girls/boys
Note: We did not have age restrictions on the 25's during the fall season and we have had some 11 year old swim 25's during the other meets. While they would be permitted to enter 25's in the prelims they would NOT be eligible for finals since the 9-10 age group is the oldest for finals in the 25's.
THE DETAILS
- Swimmers can enter either 25 yard races or 50 yard races, but not both or in combination.
- The prelim session will be seeded for each event based on times swum in previous meets.
- Swimmers will likely have a different heat/lane for each event, not the same heat/lane for each event like a typical meet.
- Prelims will be swum in heats with mixed age/gender like we have done so far this season.
- The top 6 in each age group will qualify for the Championship Finals
- Swimmers can swim up to three events.
- We will award ribbons by heat in the prelims as we have done in every meet so far
- We will award medals for the top 6 in each age group for finals.
- Prelim results will be broken out by age group. Swimmers will likely not know if they made finals when they leave prelims that evening. Results will be posted on our Hubbard website as soon as possible.
- We have not officiated the meets so far, so it wouldn't be fair to the swimmers to start enforcing stroke rules now. We will not be doing DQs at the Championship (unless it's something like doing freestyle instead of breaststroke) but please do not enter a kid in an event that you know they aren't legal.
- If a swimmer knows that they CANNOT swim on Sunday if they make finals please let me know and their slot in finals will go to the next highest placing swimmer.
Reminder - You will need to show your Driver's License to get into the JCC Building
