Pro-Abortion Groups Out to Stop Us
We Need Your Help at the Capitol!
Sponsorship

The Louisiana legislative session started today, and ALREADY, pro-abortion groups are mobilizing to stop our legislative agenda.  Click here to see the ad they ran today in the Shreveport Times and Baton Rouge and New Orleans  Advocate.

We need your help to defend life in the Capitol and make sure these abortion-on-demand groups do not claim victory in Louisiana.  WE NEED TO WIN, because if we lose, unborn children and their mothers will lose as well.

Could you pitch in today to sponsor our legislative advocacy?  If we receive enough donations, we will respond with our own ads in the papers.  It will cost us about $10,286.32 to JUST match their New Orleans and Baton Rouge ads, not to mention their Shreveport ad.

Louisiana Right To Life makes a significant investment in representing the pro-life cause day in and day out at the Legislature. Our Legislative Director, Deanna Wallace, will be walking the halls of the Capitol daily.

Here's a brief summary of the legislation we are moving forward this session (drafted in consultation with the Bioethics Defense Fund):
  • The Women's Enhanced Reflection Act would increase the current time for reflection between pre-abortion counseling and the abortion procedure from 24 hours to 72 hours, allowing women a chance to further reflect on all their options.  Pregnancy centers in Missouri have reported an increase in the number of women who decided against abortion after a similar law was passed there.

  • The Unborn Child Dignity Act would prohibit the sale or donation of human body parts that are harvested as a result of an elective abortion. Remember those terrible videos? This bill would prevent that in Louisiana.

  • The Defunding Planned Parenthood Act would prohibit entities that perform abortions, or contract with those who perform abortions, from receiving public funding for any purpose.

  • The Board Certification Requirement for Abortion Providers Act would require that abortion providers be board certified in order to be qualified to perform the invasive surgical procedure of abortion.

  • The Compassionate Burial Options Act would require hospitals to inform parents who suffer the tragedy of miscarriage that they have a option to bury or cremate their child. This would allow parents to properly grieve the loss and can facilitate the healing process for the family. If you or a loved one has a story related to this legislation, please contact Deanna Wallace.
While we can't share it publicly right now, there is one more exciting piece of legislation to be introduced in the coming weeks! To learn more about the bills and to follow their progress, click here. Stay tuned to our social media accounts for action alerts.

Remember, not only do we stand for unborn children and their mothers in Baton Rouge, but we also represent YOU and every pro-life person in Louisiana!

Please pitch in today to help the pro-life movement WIN at the Capitol!

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,

Benjamin Clapper
Executive Director

P.S.  As you see from their expensive newspaper ads, pro-abortion groups want to stop our pro-life agenda. If we can raise the $10,286.32, we will respond in the papers!  Pitch in today!

P.P.S. Join us for Pro-Life Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, April 20!
