Dear Friends

In celebration of the Winter Wilderness Stewardship partnership between Winter Wildlands Alliance and the US Forest Service, we are  thrilled to announce our third annual Day of Action, and we want YOU to be a part of it!

You can help in your own backyard by volunteering to place boundary markers in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness Area. WWA and the Forest Service will utilize this project as a template for establishing better winter management and a community stewardship ethic for wilderness areas throughout the country.

Join us for a day in the dirt on Saturday September 28th

You have the option of being at one of two work sites:

1. Phillips Pass off of HWY 22

This work party will be hiking 2 hours into the Jed Wilderness and will dig holes and set boundary markers. . Please be prepared to carry shovels with you.

2. Indian Meadows - near Driggs, Idaho:

This work party will be hiking into the Jed Wilderness to dig holes and set boundary markers. It is a 1-hour hike into the work site and a 1-hour hike out. Please be prepared to carry shovels with you.

ALL tools and equipment will be provided. A sack lunch, snacks and a Thank You goodie bag will be provided to each volunteer.

We invite and encourage you, your family and your friends to come out and enjoy a great day with other adventurers as we work to Protect the Places we Play.
