Change the minimum wage in Avionté
  1. Within the Avionté Core Application access Admin Tools.
  2. In the Admin Tools main window, select the Employer category from the left panel.
  3. Double-click the employer name in the right panel. This loads a list of available suppliers.
  4. Select the Locality/Country tab.
  5. Select a state from the Locality column. The details load in the bottom portion of the window.
     
  6. Update the minimum wage for the selected state.
  7. Save your changes.

Adding a California Paid Sick Leave Plan to Avionté

Covered California employees must accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked or start the period with an initial sick leave balance of at least 24 hours. California 2015 Accrual Rules 

Before you begin: Contact your Support Team to have the customized Processing Method added to your database.

 

View Accrual Plans

  1. Within the Avionté Core Application access Admin Tools.
  2. In the Admin Tools main window, select the Employer category from the left panel.
  3. Double-click the employer name in the right panel. This loads a list of available suppliers.
  4. Select a supplier; that supplier's config properties are loaded.  
  5. Multiple tabs are located across the top of the Supplier window. Select the Accrual Plan tab. Any existing accrual plans for the supplier will be listed in the upper screen. Details of the selected plan are viewed in the lower screen.
     
  6. New plans can be entered by clicking on the Add New button on the Accrual Plan tab in the lower screen. The fields are cleared and a new plan may be created. At this point, you may create either an Accrual or Depletion plan for paid sick leave.
     
Accrue on Hours Paid
  1. Enter the name and a description for your California Accrual Plan.
     
  2. Select the Rate Type of Per Hour. 
  3. Check Unlimited Carryover.
  4. A customized processing method (requested from your Support Team) is used for California accruals and takes into account the Rate, Carryover Limit, Pay Period Limit and Yearly Limit. Therefore, these fields may be left blank.
  5. Carryover is based off the Yearly Date Type designation. Choose Calendar Date. Note: The Calendar Date selection defaults to 1/1, and the Anniversary Date defaults to the employee's date of hire. 
  6. There will be no Initial Balance with an accrual plan.
  7. If setting a max accrual balance it must be at least 48 hours. 
  8. Enter the customized Processing Method by which the accrual will be processed: pay_ProcessPayrollCheckAccrual_CA_SickLeave
  9. Click the Active check box and Save the plan.
  10. Select the Accrual Plan Accrue tab.
     
  11. From the Accrual Plan column, select your California plan. 
  12. Select the transaction types that should be used for accrual of sick leave. Each type requires a new line.
  13. Save the plan. The plan is now listed in the upper screen with your previous accrual plans and is ready to use.
Annual Grant - Depletion Plan
  1. Enter the name and a description for your California Depletion Plan.
     
  2. Select the Rate Type of Per Hour. 
  3. When using the depletion plan no carryover or accrual is required. If you choose to allow either you may set the limits in the fields provided.
  4. Carryover is based off the Yearly Date Type designation. Choose either Calendar Date or Anniversary Date, although no carry over is required. Note: The Calendar Date selection defaults to 1/1, and the Anniversary Date defaults to the employee's date of hire. 
  5. Set the Initial Balance of at least 24 hours.
  6. You may set a max accrual balance, however no accrual is required. 
  7. Enter the customized Processing Method by which the plan will be processed: pay_ProcessPayrollCheckAccrual_CA_SickLeave
  8. Click the Active check box and Save the plan.
  9. Select the Accrual Plan Deplete tab.
     
  10. From the Accrual Plan column, select your California plan. 
  11. Select the transaction type that should be used for depletion of sick leave. 
  12. Save the plan. The plan is now listed in the upper screen with your previous accrual plans and is ready to use.
