I think we can all agree that technology is wonderful, and it just keeps getting better! However, many of us may be guilty of thinking (or hoping) that technology is going to take care of everything for us. The truth is, some human intervention is still needed in many cases.
I thought about this the other night as I was deleting shows from my DVR. I can set it up to delete after a certain period of time, or I can go in and do it myself. If I create a rule to delete once it's watched, I may miss a show if someone else watches it. However, I do have to take into account how much time this really takes me and do I really need to manually do this? And the obvious of how import is it really if I miss a show. That of course depends on the show!
Avionté is much the same. Rules or stored procedures can be applied to take care of many day to day updates.
Status - change any status based on rules. For example, if an Employee/Customer/Contact has not had some type of Message logged in the past six months their status automatically changes to Inactive.
Uppercase/Lowercase - Online applicants or even internal staff can't seem to use the shift key? Each night a process can run to make all records look just like you want them to.
I'm sure you get the idea.. technology can make some of those day to day tasks much quicker and easier! Your Customer Care rep would be happy to talk to you in more depth about leveraging your existing technology.
How about your current records, are they as up to data as you would like them to be? It's the start of a new year, thus a perfect time for a little "light" housekeeping.
Active Assignment (Advanced Query) will show you everyone that is currently on assignment, what their end date is (or if it's open ended) and he last time they received a paycheck. Why would you want to use this AQ? Use your sort option and look at everyone that has not received a paycheck (this will only work if you are using Avionté 's back office for payroll) If someone hasn't been paid in the last month, chances are they are no longer working. If they aren't working, it's best to end their assignment for proper reporting (and availability!)
This is a great example of wanting to go through and check the data verses a stored procedure. It's important to put in the exact end date for information such as unemployment.
Open Orders. It's easy to have old orders just sit and eventually be forgotten. These orders take up real estate on your screen and any feng shui guru will tell you that clutter is not cool. Run your Job Order Metrics Advanced Query and use the filter to view jobs that have been open longer than 90 days. Chances are if they have been open this long, they aren't been worked any more. Make a decision to keep them or close them. Now when you check your counters or run reports for open orders you have an accurate count of what is truly being worked on.
Active Assignment and Job Order Metrics are newer AQ's. If you don't see them, ask you Admin for permission to view or contact your Customer Care rep to have them added.
Happy Staffing!
