The Bible

Review of Episodes 3 and 4

Alisha Michael

As the walls fell around Jericho and God's people took the city; as Samson lost his eyes (and eventually his life) fighting the Philistines; as Kings Saul and David battled for Israel's supremacy and the honor of their Lord on the battlefield; the sword and supernatural might led the way. I'm not sure how the producers of The Bible could have done these stories justice with any less gory detail.

If I Were You

Decisions, Decisions

Darrel Manson

Sometimes we face trials that lead us to make self-destructive decisions. What if we let someone else make the decisions for us at times like that? It would certainly require a basis of trust. In If I Were You, two
women enter into such a pact.

Language of a Broken Heart

Hope for a Hopeless Romantic

Darrel Manson

Romcoms are most enjoyable when we have a reason to
cheer for the people. In Language it is hard to get behind
Nick. He is both depressed and depressing. Granted, he's a
nice enough guy; it's just that he is a bit bland....

It's hard to believe that fifteen years have passed since Disney's Mulan first stole our hearts. New Release Roundup

Rise of the Guardians, Brother Bear, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Marine 3, Mob Doctor, Mulan

HJ Staff

Now on Home Video. From a Christian perspective, believing in God doesn't give God power, but it reminds us that we are not alone and we are empowered to change the world for good because of God's love for us in Jesus. Given the strong emphasis on Easter and new life, Rise of the Guardians has parable-esque, epic possibilities, earning it my first 10 out of 10 stars for 2013!
