What's In A Roadblock?

 

Today on Hollywood Jesus we're featuring an exclusive hi-res onesheet (read: movie poster) featuring Peter from the new TV movie series The Bible, debuting on History channel March 3. We've been dished this content from a publicist as part of a "roadblock" promotion running on a number of faith-market websites this weekend.

 

So... what's a roadblock, and what's the deal with The Bible?

 

Second question first.

 

The Bible is a mini-series of hour-long segments featuring stories from the Bible. It's produced by the husband-wife team of Mark Burnett (who brought the TV world Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice) and Roma Downey (whom you will remember from Touched by an Angel). Ten segments will run over five weekends in back-to-back slots.

 

The project's official website (which is pretty darned nice!) says, "Breathtaking in scope and scale, The Bible features powerful performances, exotic locales and dazzling visual effects that breathe spectacular life into the dramatic tales of faith and courage from Genesis through Revelation."

For marketing copy, that's pretty accurate....
