Even without a word, the visual impact of Cloud Atlas's small body of actors playing multiple characters of different races and genders throughout time speaks to themes of freedom, connection, and the truth of a value in every person and every life that is intrinsically and undeniably spiritual.
Liam Neeson, back on the job... with the plot of the first film stood on its head. But this time the passion is just kind of sucked out of the "fun." Is this what "empowerment" looks like? This time out, Neeson is almost reduced to a taxi driver with a cell phone. Now me, I'm not so much into barked orders.

The first trailer for Iron Man 3 is here, and it has a strikingly different tone from the previous two movies: this one is darker, bleaker, and far more somber. Take a look and see what you think.
"The success of the show has extended to digital and social platforms with the launch of the American Bible Challenge Game for iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle and Facebook, which currently has over 5 million gameplays, over 400,000 users and ranks as the #1 Bible trivia game." Wow.
"Because Marcelino had so much faith, his biggest wish was granted," said Brenda Guzman of St. Pius X Church. "I loved this movie and I definitely recommend for everyone to watch it."
I recently had the opportunity to interview two of the stars of the upcoming film Chasing Mavericks while in Santa Monica. Jonny Weston is Jay Moriarty, a teenager whose goal is to surf the mythical Mavericks surf break, while Leven Rambin plays the role of Kim. You can watch them at HJ.
It came as quite a shocker when Evangeline Lilly, the actress slated to play Tauriel, learned that Lost had ended years ago and that she was now on the set of The Hobbit.
Evangeline had played Kate Austen on the needlessly complicated ABC hit Lost. She had done 75% of the movie before she realized that it strikingly resembled a Lord of the Rings type story and not just a new season of Lost.
"The way they explained it to me," admits Lilly, "was that I would be in a luscious forest surrounded by oceans and the new season would include goblins, elves, and midgets. It just seemed natural to assume it was Lost."
It also did not help the actress that her contract had the phrasing, "This movie will be so needlessly long that you will feel LOST."

While much of this is a personal quest on Goldfinger's part, at times the film takes on the quality of a detective story. It also becomes something that allows us to reflect on history and truth.
Now on Blu-ray. We're left wondering which of our own "borders" should be crossed to reunite people and which boundaries are there for our own good. Honestly, the lesson seems to cut both ways, doesn't it?
