We're reaching out you today, on what is the nationally recognized day for giving to make our world a better place. We, the Dana Point Boaters Association (DPBA) want to thank you again for your past financial support. You see, without donations from you, and others like you who really care about the future of our harbor, the Dana Point Boaters Association, DPBA, would have closed its doors for long ago.
Regarding our beautiful Dana Point Harbor, it has been a very productive year! As you may know, before too long most all of the revitalization targets we all have been striving to hit over the past several years are going to be publicly announced as part of a revised harbor redevelopment plan. Perhaps through personal relationships you may have already heard this unofficially. If not, please contact us and we'll be most happy to drill down into specifics.
Regardless, the really great news here is that ALL harbor stakeholders, including recreational boaters, are finally going to be largely satisfied following several years of conflict. And beyond that, the spirit of cooperation amongst all the harbor's stakeholders has never been at this high a level. We humbly believe that DPBA has played a major role in all these accomplishments.
But of course we are far from done. With upcoming RFPs, RFQs, most likely yet another LCPA involving both the City and County, plus another California Coastal Commission review cycle, there are thousands of hours of work ahead. Of special note is the pro bono work yet to be done by the uncompensated DPBA leadership team. These efforts are essential to make sure that large and well-financed outside interests do not again subvert the intent of the current harbor revitalization vision and plan.
This then brings us to a key point of this message. As an incorporated non-profit, DPBA has costs for operations, reporting and record keeping, as well as the internet based outreach programs that are our primary expense. Although these costs are tiny in comparison to the other nonprofits within our harbor, they are still significant. We are therefore asking for you to see your way clear to again make a donation, in whatever amount you think is appropriate, to help defray these costs. It is perhaps corny, but also completely true that we could not be here without your help.
So again, thank you for your past support, and thanks in advance for your continued support, financial and otherwise. We sincerely appreciate it.
In closing, please accept our sincere best wishes to you and your entire family for the upcoming holidays as well as the year ahead.
Rodger beard President, for the Board of Directors, the Dana Point Boaters Association

Mission Statement:
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating resources. We work to improve the family friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented actives we all enjoy in the harbor. We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective. We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials. We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders. We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
