Dana Point City Council Harbor Revitalization CDP Appeal Hearing Will Be Continued
The Dana Point City Council is nearly certain this evening to postpone their hearing on the appeal of the Harbor Revitalization Plan coastal development permit (building permit) from today, October 7th, as planned, to their November 18th city council meeting. This continuance will be made at the request of OC Dana Point Harbor in order to "provide additional time for review of the project-related documentation by staff of the California Coastal Commission." Click here to review related correspondence between the City and OC Dana Point Harbor.
Your Dana Point Boaters Association had previously submitted a public records request to OC Dana Point Harbor and the City of Dana Point requesting all documentation related to the October 7th (to be November 18th) City Council hearing. Specifically, we are interested in learning how the City of Dana Point, on behalf of OC Dana Point Harbor, responds to the "significant issues" raised by CCC Commissioners Shallenberger and Garcia within the appeal. Click Here to review CCC appeal. The City has not yet provided the requested documentation, and we have been advised that we should expect it on November 13th, a mere three business days prior to the hearing.
OC Dana Point Harbor has just released the following Community Advisory, DP Harbor CDP Appeal Update, you can read it here.
As always, we will keep you informed.

We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders. We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
