Greetings!

Dana Point City Council To Hear Harbor Revitalization CDP Appeal

As you may already be aware if you've been following along, the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization, Land Side CDP was approved by the City of Dana Point several months ago without comment and then was promptly appealed (to the California Coastal Commission) by another boater advocacy group, Boaters 4 Dana Point Harbor.

Your association, the Dana Point Boaters Association (DPBA) had previously recommended that the issues apparent with the CDP document be addressed locally to save both time and money, but City Council chose not to accept our recommendation.  Hence the appeal was necessary.  We were however named on the appeal as an interested party, and so we've been notified of the upcoming Dana Point City Council meeting where the CDP changes resulting from the appeal are to be reviewed.

We of course asked, but so far have seen nothing at all in writing regarding the proposed changes.  Instead we've been told, as recently as Wednesday evening, that this information will be become publicly available sometime before the Dana Point City Council meeting which is scheduled for 6 PM on October 7th at Dana Point City Hall

You can read the meeting notice we received this afternoon by clicking here.  Hopefully we'll see you at the meeting, but no worries, you can expect to receive another email from us when we actually do receive the mysterious document.

Best regards,

Rodger

Mission Statement:
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating resources.  We work to improve the family friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented actives we all enjoy in the harbor.  We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective.  We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials.  We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders.  We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
