Greetings!

Yesterday (October 17th) your DPBA leadership met with harbor management to present the latest round of issues raised by boaters through our Boater Liaison Program.  In attendance were OC Dana Point Harbor Director Brad Gross, and leaders from the Harbor Patrol, Dana Point Marina Company, Dana West Marina, and Vintage Marina Partners (Embarcadero).  We are extremely pleased with their continued participation and support of our Boater Liaison Program, which is aimed at giving our boaters an opportunity to raise any issue on their minds and have their Boaters Association advocate for them with the agencies who run and operator our harbor.

During our 90-minute session, we presented a wide variety of issues raised by our Dana Point boating community; we explained our position on behalf of our boaters, then engaged in a collaborative discussion with the harbor leaders on how to best respond to these issues. In some instances, we expect changes and improvements to be made, or perhaps clarification or explanation where they can't.  Harbor management is now formalizing their official responses, which we will provide to you as soon as we receive it.

Again, we wish to express our gratitude to OC Dana Point Harbor, their contracted marina operators, and the Dana Point Harbor Patrol for their continued support of this boater advocacy program.  Their sincere interest and dedication to boater satisfaction has been evident in our discussions with them.  But mostly, our thanks to all the boaters who have provided us with excellent topics to raise in this program.  Your submissions to the Boater Liaison Program are making a difference for all Dana Point boaters.

We are now accepting submissions for the third round of this program.  If you have a question, suggestion or concern that you would like us to take to harbor management, please submit your issues at our Boater Liaison Program website.

Mission Statement:
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating resources.  We work to improve the family friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented actives we all enjoy in the harbor.  We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective.  We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials.  We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders.  We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
