Greetings! We've got some bad news for slip renters in the Dana Point Harbor west basin. According to Kelly Rinderchenecht, manager of Dana West Marina operations, whom we spoke to earlier today, letters went into the mail today to all 900 Dana Point West Marina slip renters. These letters reportedly announce that a monthly slip rent price hike is going be effective April 1st. The purpose of what was described as a slip rate adjustment, is to establish parity with existing slip rates in the east basin. In other words, West Marina slip rates are being raised to match, linear foot-by-foot, those rates already being paid by the 1400+ boaters in east basin. No doubt there will be more details forthcoming within the official announcement so do watch your mail boxes. In the mean time, here's a link to the official Dana Point Marina Company (east basin marina operator) slip rate rate chart so you can have an idea what to expect: Click here Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. As we gain more insight we will be sure to share it. Rodger Beard, President, The Dana Point Boaters Association
