Greetings!

Well, well, well...

After all these years of imagining, we're finally going to have an opportunity to see what the proposed new commercial core and dry storage building (aka boat barn) view lines might look like!

As the announcement from OC DPH states below, story poles are going up on Thursday, January 31st.  But as the announcement also states, they're only going to be up for 7 days as they're coming down again the following Thursday, February 7th.

This means Dana Point boaters and all others who are concerned about what's going to happen when/if these buildings are built have just one weekend to see for themselves: Saturday and Sunday, February 2nd and 3rd

The DPBA leadership team is planning to really check these story poles out and we would appreciate your help.  The plan is to take a large number of high resolution digital photos, from each of the many perspectives necessary in order to have a proper understanding of the ocean view The County of Orange is planning to leave us with.

If you can make it and have a good digit camera then please reply to this email or give us a call (949/485-5656 to reach voice mail).  We're planning to be in the harbor most of Saturday and Sunday, depending on the weather.

Mission Statement:
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating resources.  We work to improve the family friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented actives we all enjoy in the harbor.  We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective.  We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials.  We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders.  We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
