 Did you know...
Brought to You (at HOME) by the Library
The Outreach Department at the Library provides at-home service free of charge to Waterford Township residents who cannot get to the library due to disability, illness or visual impairment. At-home service provides you with access to a wide range of material from the library such as:
We can also bring you information from the Internet and answer informational questions located by the department librarians.
Information and applications for the Oakland Talking Book Service are also available. This service is offered by the National Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) and administered locally by the Rochester Hills Public Library. This is a free library program of braille and audio materials circulated to eligible borrowers in the U.S. by postage-free mail.
The Outreach Department also has a number of Bi-Folkal kits which consist of multi-media presentations to spur discussion and memories. These kits provide captivating, informing and stimulating activities for older adults. Each kit is designed to unlock stories, humorous anecdotes and first person accounts of history, experience and life. These kits can be used with any group of older adults or mixed-age groups.
Through the Library Outreach Service Department, we are committed to meeting the needs of the under served, as well as assisting people with special needs in our community. This vital link to library services means greater enrichment and a better quality of life in Waterford. Call 248-618-7682 to arrange for at-home service.

Go on a Blind Date with a Book
Do you like to be a bit adventurous when choosing your reading material?
Would you like help deciding what to read next? Go on a blind date with a book!
Let us "fix you up" with one of the wrapped books in the "Blind Date With a Book" display created by adult librarian Andrea. The display is next to the Circulation desk near the entrance to the Adult Department. Pick out a book from the display, check it out, and don't unwrap it until you get home. If your "date" turns out to be not a good match for you, all you have to do is return it to the library!
