The best of my education has come from the public library... my tuition fee is a bus fare and once in a while, five cents a day for an overdue book. You don't need to know very much to start with, if you know the way to the public library.

College & Financial Aid Night
The Library will be participating in the College & Financial Aid Night at Waterford Mott High School on Monday, February 18, 6:00p - 8:30p. (Sponsored by Genysis Credit Union)
This is an informational meeting for all Waterford parents and students grades 8-12.
The event starts with a welcome by Superintendent Silveri and a representative from Genysis Credit Union followed by a keynote address by Patrick O'Connor, author of College is Yours. The remainder of the evening parents and students can attend one of the 20-minute breakout sessions that include information about financial aid and scholarship tips, the "College is Yours" workshop by Patrick O'Connor, the Oakland to Oakland program, and Oakland Schools Technical School program.
And you can stroll through the exhibit area. That's where the Library will be. On offer at our table will be information about scholarship & financial aid resources available at the Library, information about "Dollars for College" a 3-part program at the Library, and information about writing that essay for college applications. |

Did You Know...
The Library's website has a Homework Helper page. Whether it's finding who really discovered America first, researching the causes of World War II, or finding information on that elusive person you chose for Women's History Month, we can help you. There is a direct phone number for the Children's reference desk to speak to a librarian, a link for email questions and a link for reference chat service. There are also links to online databases to search as well as links to useful Internet searches. When you are ready to write that research paper you will find help for that as well, including formatting the bibliographic citations for the sources you used. |
