Join us for the following special events at the Hammond Public Library.

Shakespeare 

Thurs., May 29 at 6:30 p.m.


A 45-minute adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is presented by the Waldorf College Theatre Company from Forest City, Iowa. The troupe enjoyed their time in Hammond last year, and wanted to return! They accept a free-will offering to defray costs of their summer tour.

Hammond Art Tour
Sat., May 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
12 venues, each featuring a different expression of the arts

HPL features "new works," an exhibit of mixed media paintings by Dawn Diamantopoulos. Meet the artist here from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also, HPL hosts the Local Author Fair from 12-3 p.m.  
  
Other venues are: Paul Henry's Gallery; South Shore Arts Substation No. 9; Hammond INnovation Center; Towle Theater; Flex Studio; The Blue Room Cafe; Mark Anderson Illustration; Hammond Arts Center; It's Just Serendipity; SideCar Gallery; and White Ripple Gallery.

Local Author Fair
Sat., May 31 from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

As part of the Hammond Art Tour, HPL is proud to host 25 local authors, who will display and sell their books. Authors perform short readings from their work every 15 minutes from 12:15 to 2:45.
