Remember to Wear Your Lightning Pass
Parent and visitor access to the building is limited to the the main educational wing entrance and the main church entrance, both of which are monitored by staff. As a safety measure, CDS parents are required to wear their Lightning Pass which authorizes them to enter the building. ALL parents must wear your Lightning Pass, or you will be asked to stop and sign in at the desk before proceeding past the main entrance, even if you can be identified by the person on duty. If you need a Lightning Pass, additional passes are available in the school office. Thanks for your cooperation for the safety of our children!
Report Cards Issued Today
Report cards were sent home today for students in grades K - 5. Report cards for students in grades 6 - 8 can be viewed on-line through TeacherEase. Parents should keep the report card for your records and sign and return the cover sheet to your child's teacher. If your child in grades K - 5 did not bring home his/her report card today, please contact the office.

AR Prize Day Coming in January
AR (Accelerated Reader) is a reading incentive program sponsored by the PTF to encourage reading for students in first through eighth grades. Here's how it works - students read a book designated as an AR book, take an AR test on the computer, then, earn and accumulate points based on their test scores. Once each semester students can shop for prizes in the AR store set up by PTF volunteers. The prize day  to shop with AR points earned in the first semester will be announced in next week's Informer.

Box Tops for Education
We recently received a check from Box Tops for Education for $637.51. Great job, parents! See the flyer in today's Informer about special Box Top promotions during January. Every Box Top turned in helps the PTF earn cash for the school!
