CDS Christmas Program Tonight
7:00 p.m. in the Worship Center Students Should Be in Classrooms by 6:30 p.m.
 Students in grades 1-5 and performing arts students in grades 6-8 will be participating in our annual Christmas Program tonight at 7:00 in the Worship Center. Students in grades 1-5 should meet in their classrooms by 6:30 p.m. Performing Arts students should meet in the music room no later than 6:15 p.m. Doors to the Worship Center will open at 6:00 p.m. Parents may only save seats if someone in their party remains in the seats.
Please keep in mind this program is mandatory for students in grades 1-5 and performing arts students in grades 6 -8 as part of their grade for the second quarter. An unexcused absence will result in a grade reduction. An excused absence must meet the criteria for excused absences in the CDS handbook.
Christmas Program Attire + Shirt - Red t-shirts for grades 1 - 5 that were purchased through the school. Students may wear a white long sleeve t-shirt underneath if they like. + Scarf - Students may add a winter scarf to wear around their neck. This is optional. + Pants for all grades-All students should wear jeans in good repair-no holes or tears. + Shoes for all grades-All students should wear athletic shoes. Christmas Break Dec. 20 - Jan. 2
Early Dismissal Wednesday, Dec. 19 @ 12:15
 Students will be dismissed early at 12:15 on Wednesday, December 19 following their class Christmas parties. Lunch will not be served that day. Central Learning Center offers Holiday Care through the Christmas Break for families who need it. If you would like to make reservations for your child during the break, call 255-8133.

Last Day for Smencil Sale Is Tomorrow!
Smencils (Scented Pencils) for Sale!
Smencils are the fun and fragrant pencils with "holiday smells." The last day is Wednesday before school only at the top of the stairs from 7:45-8:00 only while supplies last. Profits from the fundraisers will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Birthday Party for Jesus Tomorrow
Out of Uniform Day on Wednesday
 December 19, we will celebrate Jesus' birthday with a program in the Worship Center at 10 a.m. Each class or grade level participated in a special service project for Christmas. During the program, students will share what they did and how it impacted them. Parents are welcome to attend. Also at 10 a.m. parents can begin setting up the classrooms for the Christmas parties while the children are attending the program. Parties will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday, December 19 is an out of uniform day. We are encouraging students to dress nicely for their Christmas parties. Students may wear jeans in good repair - no holes or tears and no t-shirts with inappropriate graphics or writing. |

January Lunch Ordering Deadline
 The deadline to purchase lunches for January is Thursday, January 3. We will begin serving lunches January 7, so you will need to send a lunch with your child on January 3 and 4. CDS Reaches Agua Viva in Guatemala
 Recently Principal Joel Taquira from Agua Viva School in Guatemala visited CDS. We sent him home with gifts as expressions of Christian love for his school and students. They were so grateful for the books, t-shirts, candy and crayons. In the photo to the left, is Principal Joel with some of his students proudly wearing the CDS t-shirts sent as gifts for the students. |
New Bible Study for Women in January
Special Invitation to CDS Moms . . .
Author and speaker, Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has experiences where others bump into her happy space and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff feelings, we explode, or react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Filled with personal examples and Biblical teaching, "Unglued" will equip you to confidently resolve conflict, find peace in difficult relationships, improve your communication, respond with no regrets, and gain a deep sense of calm. "Unglued" will be offered on Thursdays (beginning January 10) at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall and Mondays (beginning January 14) at 6:30 p.m. in the Hospitality Room. Books are $15. Childcare is available.What better way to start the new year, than a Bible study designed to help moms with the issues of parenting. |
Private Music Lessons Second Semester  Central Church's Music Department offers private music lessons for CDS students during the school year. There are a few openings in the second semester. For parents who are interested, please contact Lana Brown at lanabrown@centralchurch.com.

Central Church Offers Christmas Break Outing for 4th-6th Graders
Looking for an INCREDIBLE way to start your child's winter break? 4th, 5th & 6th graders are invited to the church sponsored Incredible Pizza Day on Thursday, December 20, the first day of winter break. Children should be dropped off at the Incredible Pizza in Cordova on Germantown Parkway at 11 a.m. and be picked up by 4 p.m. The cost is only $28 per child which includes unlimited buffet and drinks, a $20 gamecard and UNLIMITED attractions. So they can laser tag, go-cart, bumper car, miniature golf and miniature bowl all day long! Siblings and parents are invited also. Any sibling that is not in 4th, 5th & 6th grade must be accompanied by an adult and each person will be $28. Participants must sign-up online and can choose to pay online or pay in person.
