Parent-Teacher Conferences This Thursday, October 25
*Early Dismissal at 12:15 p.m on Thursday*
Schedule Conferences On-line by Wed., Oct. 24
CDS will be holding Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 25. This will be a 1/2 day of school with early dismissal at 12:15 p.m. Lunch will not be served. Students attending aftercare should pack a lunch.

All parents are encouraged to schedule a conference with your child's teacher especially if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress. Conferences are 15 minutes in length. If a longer conference is needed, contact your child's teacher for a convenient time. Parents of middle school students do not need to schedule a conference with every teacher, just the subject area where there is a concern. Central Learning Center will provide after school care for students that afternoon.

We will again use the Internet based appointment scheduling system from pickatime.com to coordinate meeting times. To schedule your conference click here for the pickatime.com website. You may also refer to the sign up instructions on the home page of the centraldayschool.com website. Appointments must be scheduled no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24. If you need any assistance or have any questions about sign-up, contact Judy McLaughlin at judymclaughlin@centraldayschool.com.

We encourage parents to take time to pray about what to discuss with your child's teacher and jot a few notes before you come to the conference. For more Parent-Teacher Conference tips click here.
Free Vision Screening at CDS
Permission Forms Due Tomorrow, Oct. 24

October 29 and 30, your child will have the opportunity to be screened for visual and ocular motility (muscle-imbalance) problems. The screening will be performed by the staff of Carl E. Flinn, MD, who specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. This is a basic screening which involves reading an eye chart and looking at pictures. The screening is free of charge. If any abnormalities are found, your child will receive an examination form stating the  possible problem and the need for referral to an optometrist or ophthalmologist of your choice. The screening is optional and is not meant to take the place of your annual vision exam with your family eye doctor. Permission forms were sent home last week. We must have a completed permission form in order for your child to participate in the screening. Permission forms are due by Wednesday, October 24.  Click here to print screening permission form

Open Houses for Prospective Families
Help Promote CDS & Grow Enrollment
To keep our tuition affordable, we don't have a large advertising budget. We do "some" paid advertising, but we also rely on the good word-of-mouth promotion by our great parents. CDS parents really are the besadvertisement for our school! With that in mind, we need you to help us promote our Open Houses to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.  The Open Houses will be held Sunday, November 4 from 2 - 4 p.m. and Tuesday, November 6 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. If you would like a flyer to give to someone, just click here to print an invitation. If you want several flyers to hand out at your work place, church group, neighborhood group or would like an 11X17 poster for your business, please contact Linda Stephens at lindastephens@centraldayschool.com. Thanks for your help!!!
