Comments Needed for Article on Camera Ban at Reno Rodeo
DEAR FRIENDS,
The Reno-Gazette Journal has just published an article on the Reno Rodeo's camera ban. This ban was inspired by SHARK's video-documentation of animals being abused and injured, horses being electro-shocked at the 2011 and 2012 Reno Rodeos.
The Reno Rodeo Association is grasping at straws to defend their ban, including bringing up the Boston Bombing as a reason why they will search everyone and ban filming. This is nonsensical as it was because people were filming that the bombers were caught. Using the victims of terrorism to hide their animal abuse demonstrates the corruption and cowardice of the rodeo mafia.

"Kindness and compassion towards all living beings is a mark of a civilized society. Racism, economic deprival, dog fighting and cock fighting, bullfighting and rodeos are all cut from the same fabric: violence. Only when we have become nonviolent towards all life will we have learned to live well ourselves." - Cesar Chavez, civil rights and labor leader, founder of the United Farm Workers
