SHARK Begins New Campaign to "End Pigeon Shoots Now!"

As you know, SHARK has spent the past few years video-documenting live pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania, where birds who have been deprived of both food and water are used as living targets and shot for fun. Although these horrific events are already illegal under current anti-cruelty statutes, some local district attorneys with ties to pigeon shooters have failed to take action. They have even stopped Humane Society Police Officers from filing charges against shooters. Therefore, SHARK is fully supporting newly introduced legislation that will specifically ban pigeon shoots in PA.

To educate the public and promote the passage of this legislation, which is PA senate bill SB510, SHARK is engaging in a multifaceted campaign we are calling "End Pigeon Shoots Now!"

We kicked-off this new campaign last Wednesday, April 17, when SHARK Investigator Stu Chaifetz went to Delaware to confront John Sigler, former President of the NRA, current Chairman of the Delaware Republican Party and all-around vile person who has shot pigeons at the Philadelphia Gun Club.

Watch how quickly Sigler ran away in the following video.

The raw footage of the event was picked up on a few websites, which you can view at the following links:

The Sigler run-a-way is just the first of many events we will hold over the coming months to expose out of state pigeon shooters. We do this not only to educate PA legislators that most pigeon shooters don't even live in their state, but also to show the shooters themselves that they will be held accountable for their vicious cruelty.

We are taking the fight right to the killers, with only a video-camera and the truth on our side.

TAKE ACTION - Leo Holt and the Jackson Laboratory

Leo Holt is the former President of the Philadelphia Gun Club as well as a former Board member of the NRA. He's also the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Jackson Laboratory, located in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Jackson Lab breeds millions of mice who suffer terribly in labs around the world.

These type of labs are often very concerned about being associated with animal cruelty, so why then would they elect a man who has been videotaped torturing wounded pigeons with his very own hands to lead their Board? Let's ask and find out!

Please politely and respectfully email the Jackson Laboratory and ask them why Leo Holt, who thinks the mass slaughter of starved animals is fun, is the right man to chair their Board. Please also ask them how they feel about the Jackson Lab now being so closely associated with severe animal cruelty such as pigeon shooting.
