Welcome Back to School!
Expectations and Attendance
With the possible exception of the last day of school, there is no more exciting time on a school campus than the return of students after summer break. It was great to see all the kids back to school today. Nothing brings our campus alive more than the return of our students and families.
Consistent with our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program, tomorrow (8/18/16) is our 3rd Annual Expectations Expo. During this time, students will rotate through various stations learning about school expectations and how to stay safe both in and out of school. Stations include lessons on Internet safety, office and library etiquette, campus rules, sportsmanship, bully prevention, and so much more. Much of this will occur outside so please encourage your child to wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. It would also be advisable to send your child with extra water.
Also, I would like to remind you of the importance of sending your child to school on time each and every day. Students should arrive on campus no later than 8:25 AM. School attendance is a priority and state law requires us to notify you if your child misses 3 or more days of school without a valid excuse. Please review the attached letter which goes into detail with regards to the importance of school attendance and our school's mandated response to truant students. If you have questions about attendance policies, please contact Mr. Burroughs or Mrs. Anguiano.
