Message from the Chairman of the YIBE Board of Trustees

Our Shul represents an eclectic array of Jews from all walks of life and even from all corners of the world. As such we may have diverse Minhagim, ways of dress, dialects or opinions, but under it all we are all Jews. We come together with a united purpose - to Daven in our beautiful Mikdash Me'at. Sometimes, however, we may inadvertently let our differences get in the way of our similarities and over the past year we may have said the wrong thing to someone or acted in a way that irritated someone. As a Kohen I am familiar with the concept of being a Rodeph Shalom. It is important that we all pursue peace with one another to create a Kehillah where the sum is greater that the parts; a place where our prayers will be heard and answered.
We now stand firmly in the middle of the Days of Awe, specifically the 10 days of repentance. I would like to ask Mechila if I said something the wrong way, left someone out, listened to someone talking about someone, or anything that in any way may have harmed anyone. I hope that all members can do the same, and realize how important achdus is.
People come from all over to look in awe at the beauty of our Shul, but the real beauty lies within the walls - at the members and mispallilim who unite with a common goal. I would like to take this opportunity to give a brocho that all of our tefilos be answered for the good and that everyone has a G'mar Chasima Tova.
Best wishes for a year of continued growth,
Judd Odzer,
Chairman of the Board
