This Month at Setnor

Our new Steinway Model D Concert Grand Piano was delivered on May 20. It is a beautiful instrument that will be played by students and faculty on the stage of Setnor Auditorium for many years to come. Our All-Steinway School Campaign is in full swing. Information about the campaign and opportunities to participate are available at http://vpa.syr.edu/setnorsteinway. Every donation counts!

Upcoming summer activities include a special concert on June 3 to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the Crouse Chimes. They will be rung at 6:00 PM. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a beautiful summer evening in Syracuse!

The 2nd Annual Girls Leadership Academy for Music will be held July 7-11. This unique program is for girls aged 15-18 interested in honing their music leadership skills. Please encourage any young women you think would be interested to apply for this program.

Finally, the annual Summer Festival Orchestra will rehearse July 21, 23, 28, 30 and August 3 with a concert on Monday, August 4. Repertoire this year will include Copland's "Appalachian Spring," Gershwin's "An American in Paris," and John Williams Epics. Contact Dr. James Tapia at jrtapia@syr.edu for information on joining the orchestra.
