This Month at Setnor
The students and faculty are now spread across the country in a variety of summer pursuits. You might find faculty teaching summer classes, performing in festivals, premiering compositions, making recordings, writing articles, or conducting ensembles. Our students are busy practicing, taking summer classes, doing internships, attending summer workshops and working summer jobs. On campus, we will welcome the Greater Syracuse Honors Middle School Concert Band for the eighth year to perform on June 23 and will cheer for the New York Mets on June 29 as Anthony Acocella B.M. '13 sings the national anthem for SU Day at Citi Field.
Looking forward to July, we will offer our first music leadership camp for girls from July 8-12. This unique offering will help high school girls develop leadership skills to use in their school ensembles and throughout life. Please direct any interested girls here for more information.

Alumni News
Andrea Rommel B.M. '08, M.M. '10 is an elementary school band teacher in West Orange, NY. She also directs the high school pit orchestra and assists with the marching band. She was a graduate assistant with the University Bands and participated in the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Sour Sitrus Society, Main Squeeze, and other ensembles. Andrea appreciated the tight-knit community in the Setnor School of Music as well as the large-school environment, diversity, and athletics of SU, and the intrigue of the City of Syracuse. Andrea's aspirations for the immediate future include expanding her professional network in the NYC metropolitan area, discovering new ways to positively influence her students, continually growing as a musician through performance and teaching.

Student Spotlight
Vocal Performance major, Jaclyn Clark B.M. '15, is grateful for the sense of community and the many opportunities she is afforded in the Setnor School of Music. One such opportunity is her membership in the Sigma Iota chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, a women's fraternity whose mission it is to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music. Jaclyn is Co-Chair of Service and Fundraising for the chapter of and is newly elected Vice President of Membership for 2013-2014. The Setnor School of Music is unique to Jaclyn, as it allows her to enjoy a small community with opportunities to build strong connections with professors and classmates while also being part of all that is Syracuse University. Among her accomplishments, Jaclyn is a resident advisor and recently performed the role of "Just Janette" in the opera Too Many Sopranos. She will be participating in the "Opera Viva!" program in Italy as well and interning at The Center for Exceptional Children in North Carolina this summer.
