'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Cabana;
Only Dexter was stirring, munching a banana!
The stockings were hung by the heat lamps with care,
In hopes that big Teto wouldn't steal all the fare;
The caregivers were nestled all snug in their beds;
While sweet brown capuchins were grooming their friends;
And ripped them to shreds -- I'm not getting those back!
When out in the yard, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang out of the house to see what was the matter.
Away to the spiders, I flew like a flash,
While grabbing shelled nuts from my trusty old stash.
The moon on the breast of the dew drops below,
Shined down on the monkeys, especially Frodo,
When what to my wondering eyes did I see,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-monkey,
With a little old driver so lively and merry,
More rapid than weepers, her golf cart it came,
she lip smacked, and shouted, and called them by name:
To the top of the Trailer to the top of Munchkinland wall!
Now dance away! Dance away! Dance away all!"
So up to the house top the golf cart it flew!
A sleigh full of nuts, and some fresh picked bamboo-
And then, in a twinkling, I heard the muck boots,
And dancing and flirting and many monkey hoots.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney, St. Kari came with a bound.
She was dressed all in red, from her head to her foot
And her scrubs were all covered with biscuits and soot;
A basket of treats she had flung on her back,
she looked like an elf, opening her sack.
Her eyes-how they twinkled! Her dimples, how merry!
Her radio singing -- Kari! Copy Kari!
The hair on her head was as white as snow!
Her little dog Jackie, always under her toe,
And Potter behind her; so plump and so slow!
She went to the birds, to Harley and Pooh,
saying "Hi Gabby! Hi Chickie and Chester-doodle-doo!"
She quickly rushed on, and went straight to her work,
And filled all the stockings; helped by Jimmy the Jerk,
The monkeys, excited! Began all to hoot,
She trod to the Van Clan then passed Gini Rose,
And came upon Tessa and her beautiful toes!
Picasso just sat there and let out a burp.
Now, it's off to the land of OZ and the Emerald City of green!
All the monkeys there have yet to be seen!
it shakes when he plays, like a bowl full of jelly!
Excited to see their first Jungle Friends Noel.
The monkeys all munched, content with their nuts,
And started to snooze, on their cute little butts
Kari packed up her cart and away she did fly,
The little rein-monkey went up in the sky-
But I heard her exclaim, 'ere she drove out of sight,
"Merry Monkey to all, and to all a good night!"
