Wow, 2015 is flying by and the monkey population here at Jungle Friends just keeps growing. A lot is going on here at the sanctuary, we are settling in the new squirrel monkeys, Wendell is recovering, habitats are being built, and monkeys are playing!
Monkeys, monkeys and more monkeys!
Dexter is settling in well. He is full of energy and is always playing. Hehas even lost some weight. We introduced him to April. Watch the Video of their first play date!

Wendell is continuing to heal from his surgery. Kooda is taking great care of him.Watch this Video of Kooda giving Wendell a manicure, it is very sweet! So far we have raised half of Wendell's medical bills! Please donate to the Monkey Medical Fund in honor of Wendell. He is so brave - he deserves your support!

Currently on our waiting list are 5 capuchins, 1 spider monkey, and 2 marmosets. We need your help to get these monkeys to Jungle Friends. When you build a habitat you get to name it! A capuchin habitat costs about $7,500 to construct and furnish, and $5,000 for a marmoset habitat -- you can sponsor a habitat by mailing a check, calling us with your credit card or you can make an online donation

Here at Jungle Friend we believe that the play state is the highest state a monkey can achieve. When we see monkeys playing with other monkeys or even just playing in the trees, digging in the sand and swinging in their buckets, we know that we are doing our job!

When new monkeys arrive at the sanctuary whether its from entertainment, laboratory research or the pet trade, it is most rewarding. The excitement that the monkeys feel when meeting other monkeys for the first time or feeling the grass under their feet, makes all the hard work worth it. Monkeys are Born to be Wild and as much as we wish we could release them back into the wild -- we can't. Therefore, our job is to give them the best possible "Almost Wild" life here at Jungle Friends. Please help us build permanent homes to the monkeys on our waiting list!
Monkey Day!
Our 3rd annual Monkey Day is coming up! Mark your calendars for October 24th from 2-5 pm. Invitations will be mailed out soon -- if you are not on our mailing list, please email us your address with your RSVP and reserve your spot!

If you have any items you would like to donate to Jungle Friends for the raffle, you can mail them to us or we can set up a time for you to drop them off at the sanctuary.

Jungle Friends is a true sanctuary, which means we are not open to the public. This event is Hershey and Gatsby one of ONLY two days a year when you can meet the monkeys -- you won't want to miss it!

If you Sponsor a Monkey before Monkey Day, your name will be entered into the drawing for our Monkey Cruise to the Bahamas! The drawing will be held during Monkey Day and you do not have to be present to win, but we would sure love to meet you!
