Wendell is continuing to heal from his surgery. Kooda is taking great care of him. Watch this Video of Kooda giving Wendell a manicure, it is very sweet! So far we have raised half of Wendell's medical bills! Please donate to the Monkey Medical Fund in honor of Wendell. He is so brave - he deserves your support!
Currently on our waiting list are 5 capuchins, 1 spider monkey, and 2 marmosets. We need your help to get these monkeys to Jungle Friends. When you build a habitat you get to name it! A capuchin habitat costs about $7,500 to construct and furnish, and $5,000 for a marmoset habitat -- you can sponsor a habitat by mailing a check, calling us with your credit card or you can make an online donation!
Here at Jungle Friend we believe that the play state is the highest state a monkey can achieve. When we see monkeys playing with other monkeys or even just playing in the trees, digging in the sand and swinging in their buckets, we know that we are doing our job!
When new monkeys arrive at the sanctuary whether its from entertainment, laboratory research or the pet trade, it is most rewarding. The excitement that the monkeys feel when meeting other monkeys for the first time or feeling the grass under their feet, makes all the hard work worth it. Monkeys are Born to be Wild and as much as we wish we could release them back into the wild -- we can't. Therefore, our job is to give them the best possible "Almost Wild" life here at Jungle Friends. Please help us build permanent homes to the monkeys on our waiting list! |
