Big Thinking on the road, November 27

Join Kathleen Mahoney, Professor of Law at the University of Calgary and Legal Advisor at the Assembly of First Nations, as she shares her ideas on resetting Canada's origin story to advance Reconciliation with Aboriginal peoples. This event will take place at the Royal Society AGM in Victoria, BC. 
Federation applauds reinstatement of long-form census

The Federation has commended the federal government on the expeditious reinstatement of the mandatory long-form census. "We are now back on track to knowing who we are, in all our diversity," said Federation President Stephen Toope.

How sound science policy can make Ottawa better

Read Federation President Stephen Toope's op-ed in The Hill Times, where he welcomes the new government's commitment to science and suggests that the new Chief Science Officer role should advise on how research undertaken inside and outside of government can best serve public decision-making.
