Heart rending performances, lilting music and dramatic presentations - of Metropolitan Asian Family Services/ Universal Metro Asian Services (MAFS/UMAS) seniors have successfully churned out patriotic fervor to evoke feelings of "Desh Bhakti," on August 15, 2012, at MAFS Naperville location.

MAFS staff and seniors celebrates Rakshabandhan

 

It's the warmth and love of a string that says a whole lot more than an occasion to celebrate the brother-sister relation. And the festival surely hasn't lost any of its significance as Metropolitan Asian Family Service staff and seniors celebrated this fest with full zest and zeal on August 1 and 2, at its Chicago and Niles locations respectively.

MAFS/UMAS Hosts Free Health Fair for community

 Chicago, IL: Over 50 community members took advantage of medical screening and consultations offered at MAFS Chicago on August 28 by Dr. Madhu Gopal. 
  With the aim to provide comprehensive medical checkup and needed consultation with several specialist all under one roof, the fair was opened to all. Those who took the advantage of the event were without medical insurance coverage, or had lack of medical access due to transportation or language barrier.

 Participants were offered

 *           Blood Test for glucose and cholesterol

*           Blood Pressure & Weight measurements

*           Oxygen Test& Heart Rate Test

*           Medical Supply for Diabetic shoe and other equipment

*           Health Education Seminar for Healthy diet was provided by experts from Northwestern University.
