Female Alliance for STEM Excellence (FASE) has Mini Grants!

Apply Now!

Female Alliance for STEM Excellence (FASE) is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications to provide educators (formal and informal) with the resources for new and exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) projects geared toward females. The 2013 FASE STEM Mini Grants are designed to recognize and support excellence in STEM education by providing funds to enhance programs for elementary, middle school, and/or high school girls.

Educators can apply for up to $1,000 of financial support to enhance instruction in the areas of math, science, engineering and/or technology. The grants are not to be used for equipment or to provide for travel, busing, or field trips unless it is an enhancement for student learning and directly linked to the STEM program outlined in this application. Only one grant per applicant will be awarded. Educators can apply and receive grants for consecutive years.

A goal of this grant is to encourage effective projects that can be replicated by others; recipients will be expected to submit a Final Report and either a brief video (5 - 10 minutes) presentation or 5 - 10 photos depicting the project and its outcomes. Project videos and photos will become the property of FASE and will be posted on our FASE website. Recipients will also be encouraged to share their projects with individual educators and/or at conferences or showcases.

A grant application must include the completed Application Information Form, a letter from the building principal/executive director documenting support of the grant, and theTeacher Mini Grant Program Description Form. To obtain the grant application in a Word document that will allow you type directly on the application, contact Colleen Smith.

Deadline is 4 PM on March 27, 2013. Incomplete or late grant application packets will not be considered.  (The deadline is rapidly approaching, but the application is pretty simple!)  Please note the number of grants and amounts awarded are contingent on funding.

Applications MUST be received via e-mail ([email protected]) or fax (724) 295-7001 by 4 PM on March 27, 2013. E-mail is preferred option.
