PA STEM Girls Collaborative Project Mini-Grant Applications are Open!

Mini-grants are awarded to girl-serving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) focused programs to support collaboration, address gaps and overlaps in service, and share exemplary practices. Mini-grants are a small amount of seed funding and are not intended to fully fund entire projects. The maximum mini-grant award is $1000.

Mini-Grants in Action

Numerous organizations provide valuable but uncoordinated activities and support services related to motivating and supporting girls' interest in STEM careers. These mini-grants are designed to build collaboration between existing programs and organizations in order to encourage girls to pursue STEM-related educational programs and careers. Preference is given to mini-grant projects that are innovative and involve a collaboration between two programs or organizations that have not collaborated together previously.

Have an idea in mind for a mini-grant? You can access mini-grant application resources such as a sample application, exemplary practices, project ideas, evaluation requirements, frequently asked questions and a glossary to help you to prepare your materials for submission.

To apply for a mini-grant, you must have a program registered with NGCP to use as your lead program. If you do not already have a program registered, you'll need to create a user account before registering your program. Once logged in, click on the Program Directory tab at the top of the home page; this will take you to the Program Directory page.  From the Program Directory page, click on the Add My Program link on the left side of the page.

So, it's time ... go ahead and get started!

Applications will close on February 6, 2013, and decisions will be made on March 1, 2013.

If you have questions, contact Lisa Kovalchick.
