Latest CPL Resources

New Case Studies

Members can now access seven new case studies written by registered members of the College, describing real experiences in the professional practice of early childhood educators.

Case studies give meaning and context to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. They profile professional dilemmas, ethical complexities and emotional tensions associated with professional decision-making and action, and incorporate participants with multiple perspectives. RECEs can use the case studies as professional learning resources to reflect and gain new insights into not only their own practice, but also their profession.

RECEs can complete the case studies individually or with a group, as part of their Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) plan.

CPL Tools and Components

The College has designed the Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) program framework to help RECEs reflect, plan for and document their professional learning in a meaningful way. Beginning in September 2015, the College is encouraging members to continue on their professional learning journey by reading the CPL Portfolio Handbook and starting the CPL Portfolio cycle. Members can use the

Self-Assessment Tool, the Professional Learning Plan and the Record of Professional Learning to help plan for their ongoing professional learning. These tools and components, along with the CPL Portfolio Handbook and other resources are available online.
