The College's Leadership Pilot project aims to bring 31 dedicated and highly skilled RECEs together for a unique career-enhancing professional learning opportunity. Our goal is to build a network of professionals that will contribute to improving the quality of care in the early childhood education sector. Six RECEs will be selected to participate in the pilot as mentors, and 25 will be selected to participate as candidates.

The candidates in the Leadership Pilot project will participate in 80 core hours of training content, including:

  • An opening retreat and Leadership Symposium
  • Five learning modules
  • Self-directed learning opportunities based on the participant's own career goals, needs and professional interests
  • Leadership practicum chosen by the participant
  • A closing retreat

Mentors in the program will guide and assist candidates in selecting self-directed learning opportunities and practicum experiences and participate in the opening retreat and Leadership Symposium, learning modules and closing retreat.

RECEs applying to participate in the Leadership Pilot project as candidates or as mentors will be required to complete the appropriate application form. Applicants must also find a nominator to support their application and provide evidence of support from their employer.
