Good health. How we feel can have such an impact on how we view our day, our life. When we are sick and don't know why, it's hard to find joy. It's hard to pursue our purpose. It's hard to have hope.

Peredo Community Hospital is located in an area of 1 million underserved Haitians in rural SE Haiti. Many patients walk over 4 hours to receive care from our compassionate and well-equipped staff. Every day, our staff is ready to give hope through health care to these patients.

A few days ago, Dr. Jackie talked to us about his day. "This patient (below) came to the clinic this morning with diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, weakness, and low blood pressure. He was very dehydrated. He's 24 years old and from Peredo." 

Our lab tech, Guerline, ran the tests that Dr. Jackie ordered. Upon reading the lab reports and completing his examination, Dr. Jackie diagnosed him with malaria, typhoid, parasitism, and a gastric infection. Our pharmacist, Marie Evenia, filled the prescribed prescriptions, and a follow-up appointment was scheduled to check his progress. 

Just two years ago, this patient would have had very few options for medical care, much less any necessary medication. Now, because HCO's partnerships with FAME, Chosen International Medical Assistance, TECH and many churches and individuals, he has received excellent care from our staff in a great facility, and he will have a much better chance of recovery. Peredo Community Hospital is giving health.
