Yoga Postures
Five Poses for Gratitude

Research shows that acknowledging what you're thankful for can lead to a happier, healthier life. Like gratitude, yoga makes you healthier, too. And the physical and mental awareness that comes from a regular practice can help you feel gratitude toward yourself, others and your body. These five poses will keep the feeling strong long after you've woken up from a Thanksgiving dinner coma.

Happy Holidays! Lots of developments at Integrative Mindfulness. Here's a snapshot (click the red links for more information):

Twenty new mindfulness practitioners graduated from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program in November. You'll find a sampling of their thoughts after completing the course here.

We've been putting the finishing touches on the studio. Here are some new photos.

Coming up in January at Integrative Mindfulness:
  • Massage Therapist Heather Lloyd, LMT will be relocating her practice, Serenity Healing Studio, to Integrative Mindfulness. Heather has been my massage therapist for years and I highly recommend her! If you'd like to schedule an appointment with Heather, click here
I'll be traveling to the Boston area over the New Year holiday for an extended meditation retreat at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA founded by beloved mindfulness meditation teachers Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, and Jack Kornfield

Finally, I'm excited to be offering the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)  Program in conjunction with the South Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the MS Center of Southwest Florida in January. If you or someone you know has a diagnosis of MS, please contact the MS Center at 239-435-1901 to reserve a space and obtain a full scholarship for this program beginning in Naples on January 8th at 1pm.

Susie teaches with clarity and a great sense of lightness and joy. Her gift is her ability to bring the true experience of yoga and life to each participant regardless of age, gender, experience, or current condition.

She will offer two workshops in January, Therapeutic Yoga for the Back Jan. 4, and Therapeutic Yoga for the Neck and Shoulders Jan. 18. Tai Chi Anyone?
Senior Chinese Couple Doing Tai Chi In Park Take this survey & let us know!

Recently I met a delightful and skilled Tai Chi teacher Danling Neilson ("Danli" to her many students). Danli was certified as a Tai Chi instructor in her home country of China. Watch a short video of Danli demonstrating Tai Chi here. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise and moving meditation. It is beneficial for stress reduction and many other health conditions, and promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. Read more about Tai Chi from Mayo Clinic here.

Danli loves the studio at Integrative Mindfulness and would like to offer weekly semi-private classes (4-5 students per class) if there is sufficient interest. Sound wonderful? If so, please take this quick survey and let us know your level of interest and your preferred schedule.
