Greetings!

Will 2013 be your best year yet? This newsletter reflects this intention with its new look, content, and simplicity. Hope you like it. Twelve new (and wonderful!) mindfulness practitioners graduated from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course in December. Read their comments about the class here. In case you missed it, Integrative Mindfulness made the News-Press recently. I'll be out of town, on my own meditation retreat, returning January 7th. When I return, I'll be offering several free presentations on MBSR, the Winter MBSR class series begins, and  the Friday afternoon graduates class will begin a new 7-week series. See the "Quick Links" to the left for more information and to register for upcoming events. If you'd like to see a Wednesday evening graduates class, see the article below.

A new study has found that participating in an 8-week meditation training program can have measurable effects on how the brain functions even when someone is not actively meditating. In their report in the November issue of Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, investigators at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Boston University (BU), and several other research centers also found differences in those effects based on the specific type of meditation practiced. Read more . . .
