| A Message from Vice Chancellor Basri
This year has been marked by both challenge and opportunity for equity, inclusion, and diversity at UC Berkeley. As state funding to public education continues to diminish and needs mount, our programs are critical in promoting access and excellence across the campus. In this issue of e-news we share some of our successes -- from new classes that are opening minds to new faculty who are probing what it means to live in a multicultural nation to new opportunities for excellent students who face great adversity. It is with appreciation for your interest and involvement in E&I, that I wish you happy holidays and an extraordinary new year.
Please join me in making a year-end gift for programs that are pivotal for our Berkeley students and the communities we serve.
Vice Chancellor Basri sat down with writer Andrea Lampros to share some of his personal history and path to UC Berkeley. Read the Q&A with VCEI Basri.
