Live TV Coming To

The Greatest Show in Sportfishing

The Blue Marlin Grand Championship is proud to announce an exclusive live television partnership with Mobile, AL based Local 15 TV (NBC)

The deal will bring two hours of live coverage from The Wharf on Saturday, July 11. Local 15 TV will broadcast the weigh-ins live from 7pm until 9pm followed by a twenty minute live wrap up show from 10:10pm until 10:30pm.

"Fishing is such an important part of our community that we wanted to be the ones to bring it to our viewers. When you see crowds of more than 10,000 people showing up at this tournament, you quickly realize how much of a spectator sport big game fishing is here on the Gulf Coast" said Robert Totsch, Sinclair Market Manager and Local 15 TV General Manager.

61st Position Still Up For Grabs

The 61st position to benefit the St Jude Children's Research Hospital will be auctioned off at Noon, June 30th, and the proceeds from the highest bidder will directly benefit this fantastic charity. Interested team owners can submit a bid directly to Beverly Morgan at beverly@cmmmarinas.com. Opening bid is $7000. It's a great way to not only have a guaranteed spot on the tournament roster, but also help children in need with their fight against deadly diseases. The winner of the 61st St Jude Charity position will also receive exclusive dockage and special recognition during the event. The Competition Is Heating Up

It ain't over, 'til it's over.

One of the things which makes the Triple Crown Points Series so exciting is you never know when the standings are going to get shaken up. This past weekend in Destin proved once again things can change quickly in the chase for the championship. The GCTC has a brand new third place team going in to the final leg. Johnny Dorland and Team Cotton Patch who weren't even listed in the standings prior to last weekend jumped straight to third place only 74 points away from first place after an extraordinary record breaking first place finish at Sandestin. And they collected 51 bonus points for the new ECBC tournament record along the way.

Then there's Rocky and Laurie on Reel Addiction. Never a team to be counted out, Rocky moves to ninth position in the championship with his second place finish at ECBC, easily within reach of the championship going into the finale.

Stay tuned. The Greatest Show in Sportfishing is up next. And nothing's a sure thing.
